Invited Session on Advanced Control and Topology for Railway Traction Drive System

The 15th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA2020) will be held during 21-25 June 2020, in Kristiansand, Norway. The Conference is organized by IEEE Industrial Electronics Chapter of Singapore, University of Agder, and IEEE Singapore Section. IEEE Industrial Electronics Society is the financial and technical sponsor.  The proceedings of past ICIEA have all been included in the IEEE Xplore database and indexed by EI Compendex and ISI Proceedings.

ICIEA 2020 marks the 15th Anniversary of the ICIEA conferences. As a premier conference, ICIEA provides an excellent forum for scientists, researchers, engineers and industrial practitioners throughout the world to present and discuss the latest technology advancement as well as future directions and trends in Industrial Electronics.

Aims &Scope

Electric traction drive system(ETDS) is the heart of high-speed train, freight locomotive, metro, light-rail and maglev vehicle in rail transportation. With the requirement of high-speed, high reliability and low harmonic pollution for the trains, weight-lighting, high efficiency, high power density, and good control performance are the development directions of ETDSs. The special session will focus on these new technologies and applications in rail transit such as permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) traction drive, linear traction motor design, power electronic transformer, new power conversion topology with wide-band-gap devices, system health diagnosis, model predictive control, adaptive control schemes,

Authors are invited to submit full papers describing original research work in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Power electronics transformer technology
  • Control and design for Linear traction motors in maglev train
  • Control and design for permanent magnet synchronous machine drives
  • Model predictive control for grid-tied converters and motor drive systems
  • Vector control and direct torque control schemes for motor drives.
  • New topology of electric traction drive system with wide-band-gap power devices(Sic, GaN) application
  • Reliability and health diagnosis of electric traction drive systems
